The General Assembly,
Deeply concerned about the system that begins from black and brown schools to prison at
Social Justice High School,
Realizing all forms of oppressions must be fought for in order for true social justice to occur,
therefore an anti-oppressive zone should exist at Social Justice High School,
Encouraging schools to educate students about oppression can create an anti-oppressive zone
that is affective throughout their lives,
Affirming the enforcement of anti-oppressive policies at Social Justice High School and
Chicago Public Schools,
Stressing students with knowledge can create a respective image for the school and the
environment they are in,
Taking into account that Social Justice High School’s mission is to “…have a passion for
peace, justice and the dignity of all people.” The Education Committee at Social Justice High
School proposes the following solutions,
1. Create an anti-oppressive workshop for all incoming freshmen;
2. Applaud the schools attempt to reach a comfort zone;
3. Suggests the importance of the knowledge of oppression and its effects on humans;
4. Demands educated students at Social Justice to create a safe zone at school;
5. Express the hope of forming an agreement to help rebuild the mission and vision of
Social Justice High School.
